He received his BA in Industrial Arts Education from Glassboro State College in 1976, and then worked as an instructor of woodworking and design, AutoCAD, photography, drafting and design, and graphic arts until his retirement in 2013.
Kirk’s collection celebrates both a deep appreciation for creativity, as well as quality craftsmanship. In a process called polychromatic segmented turning, one-of-a-kind utilitarian artworks are crafted from natural woods. The artist selects contrasting species of wood which are then shaped on a lathe. No stains, paints or dyes are used in Kirk’s work. Colorful and unique, these pieces are perfect for display, entertaining guests, or as cherished keepsakes.
