About the Art
My work is inspired by close observations of the natural world and encounters with still moments that give us pause. The paintings display a quiet, meditative quality, contemplating our connection with nature and changing notions of what nature is. The ephemeral qualities of organic life are captured in time on canvas. They are executed in a crisp and technically sharp manner that is true to their physical existence. A mindfulness of modernist compositional concepts are emphasized, giving rise to the formal elements inherent to the medium.
